We were so excited that ICC UK was shortlisted for a National Charity Award this year! ICC UK was just one of four charities from across the entire UK to have made the category’s final shortlist for the ‘HUMANITARIAN AWARD’ this was a massive achievement in its self!
The Charity Today Awards gives charities the chance to tell their success stories to both National and Regional audiences, regardless of their size, through the UK’s most prestigious and diligent charity awards programme.
The awards night took place on 7th September, we might not have won our category, but it was an honour to have be nominated and amazing experience to be able to join the other charities on the night.
Our Director, Pastor Errol Blackburn and Trustees Shorai Dzirambe and Wilmoth Bullock attended the event. Pastor Errol Blackburn commented - ' We had an amazing night meeting lots of other worthwhile UK charities and it was a great opportunity to continue to promote ICC UK with the amazing work that we do'.
A big thank you to Charity Today Awards for all your support!

The centre manager decided that we had to take all the children even though we didn't have room or funds as they have nothing and no one! There were more children, but two had died already! Others were sick and in desperate need of immediate care.

Further to our report about Adonis on 6th October, we have received the very sad news that Adonis has passed away. We feel sorry about his loss, we tried to help as much as possible, his loss therefore brings much sorrow.
As Rick Fleck said, Adonis loved the Lord and trusted fully that Jesus will one day restore him to a full and vigorous life. Now we must wait until Jesus comes again to this earth to see that hope fulfilled for Adonis.

Update about Adonis, the boy who broke his neck diving a few months ago in the Dominican Republic. He has been recuperating from his injury and the surgery on his neck. The doctors have kept him in bed for the last three months to make sure the surgery has the best chance to help him.
Unfortunately, humanly speaking, his doctors say he will never walk, and he has very limited mobility in his hands and arms. We feel very bad for Adonis, and we are spending a lot of time with him to encourage him, and we are making plans to help him have a future that can be productive and fulfilling.

I’m writing today with some sad news. Alcyon Fleck, ICC’s founder, passed away on Monday morning. She was 93. She had been in declining health for a few weeks and decided not to seek medical intervention. Alcyon was lovingly known as Mama Fleck to many orphan children around the world. She leaves behind a legacy of caring deeply and effectively for orphan children. Even towards the end of her life she remained interested in the wellbeing of ICC children.
Please join us in praying for the Fleck family during this time of loss.
