Update On Adonis In The Dominican Republic
From Rick Fleck:
I wanted to let you know how Adonis is doing – the boy who injured his neck in the Dominican Republic. He has been recuperating from his injury and the surgery on his neck. The doctors have kept him in bed for the last three months to make sure the surgery has the best chance to help him.
Unfortunately, humanly speaking, his doctors say he will never walk, and he has very limited mobility in his hands and arms. We feel very bad for Adonis, and we are spending a lot of time with him to encourage him, and we are making plans to help him have a future that can be productive and fulfilling.
He has a difficult road ahead, with more surgeries, physical therapy and rehabilitation. ICC is committed to helping him to be as independent as possible. By God’s grace you have helped with donations to the Adonis Fund to help with his expenses. Also, he has reconnected with some biological family and they are helping him. In fact, he is presently living with his aunt, and she is doing everything she can to help him.
Adonis is mostly in good spirits. He really appreciate what you have done to help him with the expenses so far. And I’ve let him know that you are praying for him and thinking of him.
Thanks so much for what you have done to help Adonis. His difficulties are made a little more bearable by the kindness which you have shown to him.
In God’s service for His kids,
