Projects
Around The World
International
Children’s Care was born in an earthquake. Upon seeing
the number of children orphaned by the 1976 earthquake
in Guatemala City, Guatemala, ICC’s founder Alcyon Fleck
decided to fulfill a life-long calling: to bring the
love and hope of a family to the world’s orphaned and
abandoned children. In 1977, International Children's
Care was created to fulfill just that purpose. ICC’s
first project was the Los Pinos Children’s Village in
Guatemala. The first children who came
to Los Pinos were placed in homes with loving house
parents who accepted and raised them as their own. Not
only did the children now have a permanent home with
food and clothing, they were also provided with a Christian
education, health care and most important, love! Those
first children have grown to become doctors, nurses,
teachers, ministers and government officials with families
of their own. Some have even become house parents for
ICC!

Since
the opening of the Los Pinos Children’s Village, ICC
has gone on to establish Children’s Villages and children’s
aid projects in seventeen
countries. More than thirteen
hundred children are now living and
flourishing within the families that ICC has been blessed
to provide.
