Gift
Aid - Tax Deductable Donations
The
gift aid scheme allows ICC UK to claim from the Inland
Revenue (UK Tax Authorities) the basic rate of income
tax on a donation made by a tax-paying donor. as the
current rate of of income tax is 22%, this means that
you can claim an extra 28p
for every UK Pound you donate to us.
As long as you are a UK tax payer, all you have to do
is provide us with a simple gift-aid declaration.
This
declaration can be given to us in a number of ways.
Take a look below and see the various ways in which
we can accept a valid declaration.
GIft
aid declarations are easy to make, however, in order
for us to recliam the tax on your donation, we must
comply with any one of the following:
- You must complete and return a gift aid
declaration form
- You can give us verbal authorisation and
we must send details of what was discussed
- When making a donation online, simple check
the 'gift aid' box
Try using our online gift-aid calculator and see how
effective gift-aid is,
The above calculation assumes that you are paying the
basic 22% income tax, however if you are paying 40%
tax - your donation will be greatly increased again!
If
you are unsure whether we can reclaim this 28% under
the gift-aid scheme, give us a call on 0870
429 6884 now and we'll let you know
if you can.
You
must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains
tax at least equal to the tax that ICC reclaims on your
donations in the tax year (currently 28p for each £1
you give).
