About International Children's Care UK
International Children's Care UK (ICC) has been established
in order 'to relieve the hardship
and distress of children anywhere in the world, particularly
as a result of being orphaned or otherwise without parental
support, by providing children’s care facilities and
programs including orphanages anywhere in the world,
and establishing adoption programs and services, as
appropriate.'

ICC's
headquarter is based in Vancouver, Washington States,
USA. In 1978 caring individuals, with no interest or
personal gain established ICC for the specific purpose
of giving high quality care for children in need, particular
those who have been abandoned or orphaned.
ICC champions the traditional Christian values of:
- the potential of each individual to reflect
the image of God;
- the dignity which is inherent in every
person;
- the importance of quality in human life.
The Bible is the basis for ICC's guiding principles.
From the beginning, ICC's we resolved that ICC's philosophy
should not be a typical orphanage, but a unique program
designed to consider the mental, emotional, spiritual,
and physical needs of the child. In other words, we
would not simply provide food and a roof, but provide
"homes and families', in an atmosphere that would
bring love and security to these children.
We therefore started the
'cottage / group home plan'.
Instead of large numbers of children in one building,
the children are placed in individual homes, located
on small plots of land. National couples are chosen
who serve as parents to a group of 10 to 12 children,
forming a family unit.
Our basic plan for each Children's Village is to include
ten homes for children, an administration building,
an elementary school, and a shop or industrial building.
In some cases there is also a Receiving Center centrally
located where the children are first processed and where
children who are sick or have special needs are temporarily
housed.
